Seiler registers the leadless keyboard as a new patent
For centuries, toxic lead has been used in the construction of musical instruments. However, increased environmental and health awareness further limits the use of hazardous and toxic materials. National and European regulations and laws increasingly prohibit the use of lead. So it will only be a matter of time before the use of lead in musical instruments is completely banned. Seiler has taken a step ahead and developed the leadless keyboard. A very highly compressed plastic brings the necessary weight to the key. The weighing is done by removing material.
The advantages are apparent.
- no more toxic lead in the piano
- no blooming of lead
- no hanging or bursting keys
- no weakening of the keys through holes for weights made of lead
Another Seiler patent with foresight.
